Jordan could support Israeli-Palestinian binational state, its PM says

ut such a country would have to ensure equal democratic rights for all its citizens, stresses PM Omar Razzaz

Jordanian Prime Minister Omar Razzaz said his country could possibly back a single Israeli-Palestinian state, if it offered equal rights to all citizens.

Speaking to the UK Guardian newspaper in an interview published Tuesday, Razzaz said a binational state could, under those circumstances, be an alternative to the two-state solution that currently forms the basis of international expectations to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The proposed one-state format comes as Israel plans to extend sovereignty to areas of the West Bank, as allowed under US President Donald Trump’s peace proposal, which envisions Palestinian rule and eventually a state on the remaining territory. Critics say Israeli intentions to unilaterally annex settlements in the West Bank and the strategic Jordan Valley, some 30 percent of the territory, would end the possibility of a viable two-state solution.

Syria says Israel strikes southern Damascus; Iranian base hit

Israeli air strikes on Syria are part of a shadow war approved by the US as part of its anti-Iran policy, sources say.

Syrian air defences on Monday intercepted a barrage of missiles fired near the capital Damascus, state media reported, in the latest wave of suspected Israeli attacks.

Sources said Israeli air raids struck a major Iranian-backed ammunition depot on the edge of the capital and Iranian fighters were reportedly killed.

State television said Israeli missiles were fired over the Syrian Golan Heights and live footage showed blasts across the skies of Damascus.

"The Israelis have targeted a major ammunitions depot. There were several strikes and the blasts were huge. There are reports that Iranian personnel have been killed," said Zaid al-Reys, a Syrian analyst in touch with sources on the ground.

A Syrian military spokesman was quoted as saying air defences thwarted most of the missiles that targeted southern Damascus suburbs, areas that Israel has hit in the past, before reaching their targets and inflicted only "material losses".

Comet "NEOWISE" position in Sky TONIGHT. Looking NORTH @ Dusk to Dawn

These are taken from the UK Position.

At Nightfall (23:00hr / 11pm)Look North. Try and Locate Capella not far from the horizon dead centre, then another star to its left, then move to the left again by the same distance, that is the rough location of Comet Neowise.

At the time before Dawn (3:30am) look North East in the the sky. Quite higher than what it was at Sun down. Locate Capella then come down two stars and that is the location of Comet Neowise.
