G7 foreign ministers have demanded that Iran end its arming and support for the Houthis in Yemen, while strongly condemning recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. The G7 said the escalation in Yemen threatens regional and global energy security, as fighting intensifies near the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait. Thousands of refugees have reportedly fled Yemen after the Iran-backed group seized territory along the coastline. Iran denies supplying weapons to the Houthis and says its support is political.
