The crater sits atop Kīlauea, the most active shield volcano in the Hawaiian islands. According to the Hawaii National Park Service, this is the lake's highest level since September 2017.

THERESA May last night rallied senior ministers behind her drive to punish Syrian Bashar Assad for a "shocking and barbaric" suspected chemical weapons attack.

Ministers, summoned to Number 10 for the emergency session during the parliamentary Easter break, spent more than two hours discussing the options for backing US President Trump's threatened attack on Syrian government forces.
As ministers discussed the crisis yesterday, US officials claimed to have evidence that chlorine gas and a nerve agent were used in a Syrian government attack on the town of Douma in Eastern Ghouta at the weekend that left around 70 dead.

The earthquake struck about 83.3km north of Oklahoma capital Oklahoma City.
Just an hour prior to the Oklahoma earthquake, a weaker magnitude 3.3 quake was recorded 26km west-southwest of Perry.
Then around 10.33am BST a magnitude 3.3 earthquake erupted 37km east-southeast of Stapleton Nebraska.
